Penny Michel is best known for ceramic sculpture. Her sculptures are big and bold using line, texture and color to call to mind ancient ruins. Much of her inspiration comes from a childhood spent in Carthage, Tunisa where the city is filled with Roman and Phoenican ruins.  She has been working for over 35 years making large and small sculptures, bowls, urns and platters.

Penny lives and works in Walla Walla, WA where she is a resident artist at Telander Gallery  She also teaches classes in  ceramic sculpture several times a year.
